Tailored for efficiency and business continuity

W.T.E. Waste to Energy designs and builds thermal cycles for various applications:

  • Energy generation from waste-fired or biomass plants;
  • Combined-cycle power plants, with gas turbines (topping) or steam turbines (bottoming);
  • Heat recovery from industrial processes.

Depending on the context, the cycles can use steam, thermal oil, or other organic fluids as the heat carrier.

We have extensive experience in designing new systems and revamping existing ones, with particular attention to the operational needs of the furnace, boiler, and flue gas treatment systems.

To ensure operational continuity, even in the event of an emergency (e.g., a blackout), our cycles are designed to:

  • Provide the energy needed for self-consumption;
  • Maintain the disposal process even without a turbine.

Through proprietary models, we optimize performance with solutions such as:

  • Multi-stage regenerative cycles with steam extraction at different pressures;
  • Air and condensate preheating;
  • Sensible heat recovery from flue gases;
  • Inverter-based motor control;
  • Cogeneration and trigeneration systems;
  • Entropy analysis to maximize system efficiency.
