VEOLIA entrusted W.T.E. with troubleshooting the excessive CO levels in the exhaust gas, measured at the unique stack, used by three lines.
The plant was owned by Vercelli Energia and managed by VEOLIA.
W.T.E. designed and delivered a combustion control system, to be implemented on an existing DCS, and supplied all necessary new instruments. The control logics were implemented, without plant shut down, on 3 lines, each of them with different capacity.
All single grate section frequency was coordinated with ram feeder stroke and frequency as well as the distribution of combustion air along the grates length. Secondary and tertiary air was controlled in order to optimize combustion in a way to minimize CO pollutions.
The project included fine tuning and training of plant operators and managers.
