A major Italian company, operating in the field of incineration and renewable energy, required W.T.E. to study the life extension of boilers installed on an existing incineration plant. Later, the analysis was extended to the whole plant. W.T.E. carried out the study for residual useful life evaluation through an analysis of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance with interviews to plant personnel, a statistical analysis of boiler thickness and an analysis of most frequent plant failures. After this, conceptual designs to retrofit gas cleaning system and thermal cycle have been done. A comprehensive final technical report, including suggested improvements for components and process as well as the assessment of CAPEX and OPEX for maintenance and plant revamping has been delivered.
